Tipsee: Drink Around The World

No need to travel around the world for exotic libations; just take a trip to your local liquor store. Check out these classic cocktails from around the world. Any destination is just a sip away!

 

MEXICO

Paloma 

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of Tequila
  • ½ ounce of lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • Grapefruit soda, chilled
  • Garnish with a lime wheel and salt 

Directions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a highball glass and dip the rim in salt.
  2. Add the tequila and lime juice into the glass and fill with ice.
  3. Top the glass with grapefruit soda, and mix until well combined.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel.
  5. Salud!

 

FRANCE

Kir Royale 

Ingredients

  • ½ ounce of Creme de Cassis
  • Dry Sparkling Wine or Champagne, chilled
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel 

Directions

  1. Pour the Creme de Cassis into a Champagne flute.
  2. Top the glass with Champagne.
  3. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
  4. Santé!

 

SINGAPORE

Singapore Sling

Ingredients

  • ¾ ounce of Gin
  • ¼ ounce of Benedictine
  • ¼ ounce Grand Marnier
  • ¼ ounce Heering Cherry Liqueur
  • 1-ounce pineapple juice
  • ½ ounce of lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 dash of Angostura bitters
  • Club soda, chilled
  • Garnish with orange wedge and cherry 

Directions

  1. Add the Gin, Benedictine, Grand Marnier, Heering Cherry Liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, and Angostura bitters into a shaker and mix until well combined.
  2. Strain into a  highball glass over fresh ice.
  3. Top the glass with club soda.
  4. Garnish with an orange wedge and cherry.
  5. Yum Seng!

 

Pisco Sour

PERU

Pisco Sour

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of Pisco
  • 1 ounce of lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ ounce of simple syrup
  • One egg white
  • Garnish with Angostura Bitters 

Directions

  1. Add Pisco, lime juice, simple syrup and egg white into a shaker and dry-shake (without ice) until well combined.
  2. Add ice and shake again until chilled.
  3. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass.
  4. Garnish with 3 to 5 drops of Angostura bitter. Using a straw or toothpick, swirl the bitters into a design.
  5. Salud!

 

Pimm’s Cup

ENGLAND
Pimm’s Cup

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of Pimm’s No. 1
  • ½  ounce of lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • Ginger ale, chilled
  • Garnish with a cucumber slice, mint sprig, strawberries, the lemon wheel and orange wheel 

Directions

  1. Add Pimm’s No. 1 and lemon juice into a highball glass over ice.
  2. Top the glass with ginger ale and stir until well combined.
  3. Garnish with a cucumber slice, mint sprig, strawberries, lemon wheel and orange wheel.
  4. Cheers!

 

BELGIUM
Black Russian

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of Vodka
  • 1 ounce of Kahlúa 

Directions

  1. Add Vodka and Kahlúa into a shaker with ice and mix until well combined.
  2. Strain into an Old Fashioned glass over fresh ice.
  3. Schol!
