TASTE TEST: STRANGE TACO BAR

By

General Manager Eric Brown has created a fun, original menu using locally sourced items and the freshest ingredients, giving the food a unique flare. So, what’s on the menu? A few of the killer tacos offered include the jerk chicken, portabella mushroom, and beef short rib bulgogi. Another local favorite is the braised duck taco, topped with asparagus, apples and house-made yum-yum sauce. The tacos are moderately priced; an average diner will spend about $10. No time for lunch? They’ve recently expanded their menu to include breakfast tacos, served until 11am.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Strange Taco offers 4 local beers on draft, a bevy of delightful sodas, and King of Pops for both yourself and your furry four-legged friend (did we mention the dog-friendly patio?). A fortune cookie comes with your tacos as well! The best part? Their frozen margaritas and the Cuba Libre (rum and coke.)

Strange Taco is in the old Local Republic digs, 225 West Crogan Street. Hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-9pm and Friday and Saturday 8am-10pm. They are closed on Sundays.
