With summer just around the corner, the DiG team is always on the lookout for the best seasonal sips around Gwinnett! Nothing beats a locally brewed pour and for this week’s Thirsty Thursday spotlight, we’re highlighting the Summer Sensation from Slow Pour Brewing. Located in Downtown Lawrenceville’s Depot District, this brewery is a fan-favorite, from their tasty brews and incredible outdoor space to fun, local events that they host throughout the month.
One of the biggest appeals to Slow Pour Brewing is their outdoor beer garden! Especially when during the peak times of spring and summer, there’s something so special about catching up with friends and family over a tasty brew or two in their outdoor space. In fact, as soon as you walk up to the brewery, you’re greeted by a beautiful outdoor garden that’s buzzing with butterflies, bees and other little critters. During the evening, they’ll host free concerts on the outdoor patio stage that offer an exceptional nighttime experience!
The brewery itself is located inside a refurbished factory, with a 3,000 sq ft tasting room. The ambiance is warm and stylish with low lights, exposed brick and wood tones scattered throughout. Before you snag a cozy seat, it’s time to take a look at their tasting menu, which has something for every beer lover to enjoy! For our Thirsty Thursday spotlight, we selected their seasonal Strawberry Sensation hard seltzer (which also can be ordered as a slushie for a limited time)! This is a great option for those who don’t necessarily enjoy beer but still want to have the brewery experience. The seltzer itself was absolutely delicious, featuring notes of creamy vanilla and strawberry, which is the perfect summertime combination. Think of it as the essence of a strawberry shortcake dessert bar in the form of a seltzer!
