Visitors from all over travel to Monster Jam events bringing their families and friends to witness the sensational debut of world-class drivers and their gigantic Monster Jam trucks. With an upcoming show headed to Athens at the Akins Ford Arena from June 20-22, now’s the time to snag your tickets!
This event isn’t just for the die-hard fans who grew up watching Monster Jam, it’s a place where everyone can come together for an afternoon of thrills and fun! You can either check out the Monster Jam driver’s profiles before you arrive to get an idea of who you want to win or, simply see where the event takes you and root for your favorite. That’s the beauty of this event, it’s welcoming to fans of all ages and those who aren’t familiar with the show.
There are four parts to the competition with each driver getting a score following their performance. Once all of the drivers with their trucks make their way around the track for introductions, it’s time to get the action started! Starting off with the Racing Competition, drivers race along a prescribed course to see who can finish the fastest. While this may seem like an easy task, between the size of the trucks and the amount of obstacles along the track they have to speed down and you’ll realize just how challenging it is. At this point, you’re likely to see a couple of trucks take a tumble and roll, but don’t worry, it’s all part of the fun!
Next up is the Skills Challenge where the Monster Jam drivers will have multiple chances to perform the best stunt with at least two wheels in the air. After showing off their technical talent, it’s time for the Donut Competition, which like the name suggests, involves the drivers making as many donuts as they can and as quickly as possible. This is another point in the competition where some trucks will get toppled over! Last up, is the Freestyle Competition which gives the Monster Jam drivers the opportunity to show off their special skills. This can range from jumps along the obstacle course, a reverse popper, a nose wheelie and so much more! At this point, the energy from the stands really gets going to see which of their picks can perform the best tricks.
