MARGARITAVILLE AT LANIER ISLANDS

By

Looking for a laid back summer retreat right in your own backyard? Margaritaville at Lanier Islands is the perfect getaway even if you can’t get away! The island-themed area of Lanier Islands features a water park, gorgeous beaches (in Georgia, who knew?) and Jimmy Buffett-themed food and drinks.

With a variety of restaurants, tiki bars, walk-up food and drink concessions, something is sure to put you in that Margaritaville state of mind. LandShark Bar & Grill at LandShark Landing is a great place for drinks and dinner or to watch a big game, any time of the year.

In addition to the new year-round marina, there are day docks at LandShark Landing for guests who boat in for a day, boat rentals, yacht charters and special cruises for those who want to get out on the water. Could this get any better? The answer is yes! Two sunset cruises depart each weekend to make sure you get in your weekly quota of boat drinks. Landshark leaves at 5 o’clock (somewhere) every Saturday and includes eight specialty margaritas, a nacho bar, peel-and-eat-shrimp and barbeque sliders. Sunday wine cruises are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wines are paired with appetizers, which you can enjoy while you soak in the sunset views. You have to be 21 to cruise and availability is limited, so don’t delay if you’re looking to plan one of these fun weekend excursions!

Also recently opened is the new Margaritaville RV Resort. The luxury resort has 48 RV sites with an additional 80 sites planned to open this summer. Guests can enjoy lakefront views, restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, outdoor kitchen, games area, golf cart rentals and a resort convenience store. And you can even bring Fido along! Each site allows for two leashed pets.

Now is the time to plan your escape to Margaritaville at Lanier Islands!
