JULY National Days

July 28th
National Water Park Day

National Water Park Day is celebrated on July 28th. Waterparks have something for the whole family to enjoy whether it be a waterslide for an exhilarating ride or a lazy river as a way to relax. Celebrating National Water Park Day is a great way to get out of the house and a way to “enjoy” the heat! Gwinnett has many different waterparks that are open and following social distancing guidelines. Checkout Lanier Islands Margaritaville or one of the many Gwinnett County Parks Aquatic Centers (a few have slides so that technically makes it a water park, right?)

July 31st
National Mutt Day

Grab your furry friend and make this day all about them! A mutt is any dog that’s a combination of different breeds, rather than one identifiable breed (so designer dogs are technically a “mutt” and your sweet pup who is an unknown combo). Mutts are just as special as pure breed dogs so let them know how much you love them. If you don’t have your own mutt, be sure to visit or volunteer at one of many animal shelters. Gwinnett County Animal Shelter or Gwinnett Humane Society both located in Lawrenceville are just a few places to go. You might even come home with your new best friend!  Another way to celebrate is to take your dog to one of the 10 dog parks in Gwinnett. Finish the day with a cuddle on the couch on their special day.
