Banana Cream Matcha from Warm Waves

Banana-Inspired Summer Lattes

Coffee shops from around Gwinnett are starting to release their curated summer drinks! This season, we’re seeing a variety of trending flavors at our favorite spots, including fruity favorites like mango and banana. For this week’s Thirsty Thursday feature, we’re highlighting the new Banana Cream Matcha from Warm Waves in Suwanee!

When you think of the perfect matcha latte, what flavor comes to mind? Are you a strawberry matcha type of drinker or do you like to push the bounds with a black sesame one? There are truly endless flavor combinations that can turn a basic matcha into something extraordinary! That’s why we had to stop by Warm Waves after they released their summer drink menu to give their Banana Cream Matcha a try. We’ve covered other banana-inspired drinks in the past but what sets this one apart is that it has the profile of a banana cream pie, which is the ultimate summer dessert.

This tasty creation features a house-made banana syrup, high-quality matcha, your choice of milk and a decadent cold foam. As a final touch, it’s then topped with a sprinkling of vanilla wafers and ready for your drinking pleasure. The drink itself is perfectly balanced by the earthiness of the matcha and the sweetness of the banana syrup. When you factor in the creamy cold foam and vanilla wafers, it comes together to perfectly evoke the essence of a fresh banana cream pie. If you’re not a fan of banana-flavored drinks, this one might just change your mind!
