5 Within 50: Foodie Shops

What we Dig about all of the 5 within 50 foodie shops featured in this issue isn’t just that they are all unique in their own way by the various products they offer. But they may as well be called 5 within 50 over the top nicest shops and owners! Each overflowing with passion to chat away about any questions, but also the genuine friendliness that makes you want to return often.

Joy Company Market
56 Henry Street
Braselton, GA 30517

A small family-owned country store offering Georgia grown and made food and products, including Georgia craft beer and wine. The day we visited, they were sampling (oh my goodness, we have missed “samplings”) delightful cheese/pecan wafers that finished on the backend with a perfect spicy kick. In the coolers were a variety of flavored butters, cheeses, sausages and much more. Need fresh produce or a cool candle? They have that too. It truly has the perfect old-school country store vibe with a trendy edge.

Playing With Fire BBQ Emporium
4092 A Suwanee Dam Road
Suwanee, GA 30024
playingwithfirebbqemporium.com

When you use the word “Emporium” in your name, you clearly know you have a high standard to live up to, and this Emporium does not disappoint. Born out of abundant years of experience behind many grills, the owners decided the world (or at least Gwinnett and beyond) could benefit from this knowledge. So much so that they opened in August of 2020…yep, 2020 and have a loyal following.

This is the type of shopping that is a dude’s (or dudette’s) BBQ boutique dream proudly featuring Made in the USA products with a wall of spices, rubs, sauces, jams (we can not deny the purchase of an uncured bacon jam…yummo!) and more. There are charcuterie boards and accessories, handmade pepper mills, fresh amazing meats and sausages. Oh, and did we mention the grills, smokers and other outdoor cooking options?

This is a social media event-driven shop so watch for upcoming BBQ classes, updates and more.
