It’s a great way to stay active and have fun this March!

The Town Green & Fort Pain

One of the premier spots in our community that’s perfect for an all-ages outdoor experience is the Town Green. Featuring a little over two acres of green space, the Town Green has something for everyone to enjoy, from a splash pad and two children’s play areas to a 9,000 square foot off-leash dog park. It’s also home to Fort Pain, a one-of-a-kind obstacle course designed for visitors who are 18+ to enjoy. The design of the course is inspired by Spartan Races, American Ninja Warrior and U.S. Army Ranger Training. It features 26 different obstacles, making it a great workout to challenge yourself and accomplish your fitness goals!

CrossFit on the Green by PPG

Led by certified trainer Terrance Fox, this CrossFit class takes place on the Town Green every Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. and is a great way to jumpstart your day! Participants also have the option to incorporate Fort Pain into their sessions for that extra adrenaline boost. Take advantage of this FREE weekly workout class and join us on the green!

Local Serene Parks

If you’re interested in taking things slow and enjoying the fresh spring air, check out our local parks! Jones Bridge Park spans 30 acres, offering a variety of amenities, including a playground, sand volleyball court, a river overlook with fishing areas, and three soccer fields. It also features a five-mile loop that gives you stunning views of the river’s whitewater shoals and lush forest. This is a great place to take a relaxing walk, let the kiddos run around or enjoy a day of fishing with your buddies. Simpsonwood Park is another great spot that functions more as a nature preserve and is set on 223 acres. Its amenities include grills, a sand volleyball court and a 3.1-mile dirt trail, for a more off-the-beaten-path outing. This is an ideal park for admiring the natural beauty of the Chattahoochee River and the surrounding forest. If you’re looking for a park that can accommodate skating, head over to Pinckneyville Park! Set on 93 acres, this beloved spot has a free-skate area, a roller hockey rink, a pond, a dog park and two large pavilions, perfect for hosting events!
