Three ways to Eat, Drink and be Merry!

By

Keri and J.D. Liebrock, owners of Sugar Hill Distillery began their “small business” with a desire to turn their bee’s local honey into a fine honey whiskey to sip, which then snowballed into a multi-faceted business in the heart of Sugar Hill community.   The distilling business plan organically grew into three small businesses all under one roof.  1.) Sugar Hill Distillery 2.) Apparition Brewing and 3.) Wunderbar Bierhaus and Euro Bistro. Now they are truly busy as the bees they keep!

What makes Sugar Hill Distillery unique is that they are the first in the nation to have a dual permitted distillery and brewery using the same bonded space, as well as using the same equipment for both the distilling and brewing processes.  Distilling takes a little more work as it requires additional equipment in the tanks and additional steps such as aging and filtration to obtain the desired proof for each spirit, then bottling.  The Liebrock’s say the process for brews is much more streamline with the BREWHA system making it a one and done process.  Lately, they’ve been concentrating on brewing beers to keep up with demand!

The distillery has a wide line up of spirits including Rum, Whiskey, Gin, Vodka and Agave spirit. And while you can’t purchase these locally made spirits at your local liquor store, you can buy in-house at the distillery as a great holiday hostess gift.

The team has worked hard over the past 5 years to create a space for families, (including fido, the patio is pet-friendly), to enjoy their fine spirits and delicious craft beers. Check out their calendar for local artists to make an appearance for some live entertainment over the holidays.  .

SIDE Bar:
Apparition Brewing opened earlier this year (appropriately named for its location overlooking a cemetery) is a German style brewery with German Dunkles and Hefeweizens. (Their IPA is named after Alice, a local ghost that visits from time to time.  Don’t believe us, ask them next time you’re in what she’s been up to lately.)

Their Most Popular Drink: Georgia Peach. Mixologists infused Sugar Hill Distillery No Collusion Vodka with peaches to create this perfect southern drink!

  •  No Collusion Peach infused Vodka
  • Peach Syrup
  • Housemade Lemonade (lemon, lime, water, and sugar)
