When we got word there was a new pizza joint serving up both New York Thin Crust and Chicago Deep Dish pizza right down the road in Suwanee, we knew we had to test it out. Two Cities Pizza Company opened the doors of its Suwanee location on March 8, 2022. Suwanee is now one of only two US cities (no pun intended) where you’ll find this pizza lover’s dream.
As soon as you step foot into the restaurant, you’re met with a fun, casual dining atmosphere complete with the coolest decorations. Two Cities Pizza really plays into their metropolitan concept and they do a great job at it. You’ll pass street signs, roadways and maybe even a taxi as you make your way to your table.
Pro Tip: Don’t leave without checking out the bathrooms! I wasn’t sure if I was going to the bathroom or boarding a subway at Grand Central Station!
The impressive theme is just the start of it. Once you make it to your table, order a cocktail and start looking over the menu, that’s when the real fun begins. Along with some mouthwatering appetizers, you’ll have the choice between Chicago or New York style pizza. As someone who’s had many NY style pizzas in her life, I chose to take the road less traveled and ordered Chicago style. If you’re torn, I recommend asking a waiter for their suggestion (or just ordering both)!
As soon as our food arrived, my boyfriend and I dove in. We both ended up eating our slices with forks as they were way too messy to eat like normal. The pizza toppings were perfectly coated in pizza sauce and cheesy goodness and every bite tasted better than the last. The soft crust was the perfect finishing touch. When I went to grab myself a second slice, I realized I couldn’t take another bite. After just one slice each, my boyfriend and I took home what felt like 5 pounds of pizza. All that to say, if you choose Chicago Style, be prepared to eat pizza for lunch all week!
The last thing I recommend checking out before you leave is the rooftop. Head up the stairs on the outside of the restaurant to an impressive rooftop (the only rooftop in Suwanee) complete with a full bar, fire pits and a beautiful view overlooking Suwanee. It’s the perfect hangout spot and a great place to let that pizza settle before heading home.
