TASTE TEST: T-RAY’S FIRE GRILL

By

Beef, it’s what’s for dinner at T-Ray’s Fire Grill…or chicken or scallops or ravioli… Shall I go on? I think you get the point that even though the specialty dish at downtown Lawrenceville’s newest restaurant establishment is steak, you really can’t go wrong with any selection.

Already an instant success in downtown Lawrenceville with its recent grand opening in March, many patrons were already familiar with the quality and service of T-Ray’s as it is the sister restaurant of Oyster Bay Seafood. The founders of Oyster Bay Seafood Cafe, Steve and Jo Green have partnered with Steve’s daughter, Taylor Rae Green, to bring Lawrenceville T-Ray’s Fire Grill. Combined, the family has a total of 75 years of experience in the food industry. The Green family believes in quality, old-school service integrated with delicious, one-of-a kind flavors.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff with the food, of course! T-Ray’s Fire Grill guarantees the highest quality Certified Angus Beef ® to ensure you have the best flavor and the best experience. T-Ray’s also proudly serves its customers Georgia’s own Buckhead Beef Co. Beyond their lava grill and top tier appliances, what sets T-Ray’s apart from its competition is its highly trained chefs, including the owner himself, who are all dedicated to making each dish outstanding.

When you find yourself at T-Rays, which I know you will after reading this review, it’s best to ‘go big or go home’ with the chef’s special featuring two filet medallions basted in a Dijon mustard béchamel sauce. It is then topped with fried capers and artichokes served over smashed potatoes with a choice of vegetable and two rolls.

But wait, there’s more. I would be remiss without mentioning T-Ray’s Ice Bar which features a 25 ft. wrap-around bar with LED blue lights and leather barrel chairs making for a chilled, soothing atmosphere. They undoubtedly serve the coolest drinks in town. Enjoy your favorite beverage in a frozen glass and indulge in their wide variety of flavorful dishes on the tapas menu. With drinks and food this great and an atmosphere to match, why go into the city?
