Authentic Moroccan Restaurant

As I stepped foot into Imperial Fez, I found myself in a whole new world! Colored patterns graced the room, and delicious aromas filled the air. The vibes were already off to a magical start, and I couldn’t wait to see what else was in store.

The hostess led us to the seating area with both floor and table dining options. We opted for a table, but if you’re looking for a truly authentic experience, the floor cushions, known as sedari, are the traditional dining setting.

Our waitress provided us with menus, and it was time to make our selections. As we glanced over the menu, there was an incredible array of yummy choices. You can never go wrong with a classic staple, so I ordered the “Marinated Beef Tenderloin Kabobs” and a “Chicken B’stella.” Let’s just say I had a hard time choosing between the two, so both were the answer! For adventurous eaters, the restaurant offers a full Moroccan experience with a “Five Course Set Menu,” including soup, salad, appetizer, entree, dessert and tea.

With our order placed, you’d think the waiting game begins, but here at Imperial Fez, there’s definitely no boring wait time. Be prepared to enjoy an evening full of entertainment with professional belly dancers! As an interactive show, the belly dancers truly weren’t the only ones shaking it on the dance floor. As an audience member, you may find yourself a part of the performance.

Before eating, the waitress performed a traditional ”hand-washing” ceremony. The ceremony included a Moroccan hand-washing basin and a kettle of water scented with orange blossom, which was poured over our hands for cleansing. After the proper preparations, it was time to dig in!

I started with the “Marinated Beef Tenderloin Kabobs,” which was served on a bed of mixed greens, Moroccan rice and corn. The earthy yet bright flavors were nothing like I’ve ever experienced, but I cannot wait to have them again! The “Chicken B’stella” is filo dough filled with chicken, spiced eggs, roasted almonds, and nutmeg, topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon. It’s truly the perfect marriage of sweet and savory.

I pride myself on being quite the expert of the Taste Test Series. I’d like to welcome Imperial Fez to my personal Taste Test Hall of Fame! Words don’t do it justice, and you’ll have to try for yourself!
