TASTE TEST: DULUTH REXALL GRILL

By

A staple in the Duluth food scene since 1974, The Rexall serves up the best home cookin’ with a side of Southern hospitality.

The Rexall Grill is one of those Gwinnett places that buzzes with meeting, greeting and eating from breakfast, which begins at 5:30 am, on through lunch time. DiG recommended favorites include the fried chicken, homemade peach cobbler, vegetable soup, pot roast, “taters” and their legendary meatloaf.

Connected to a drug store, like it has been for over 40 years, Lynda – both the pharmacist and the restaurateur – took over in 1998 and has tried to make sure things don’t change too much. This is a place filled with memories from past generations (served best alongside some fried okra, if you please); it’s an unaltered place for people to return over and over with family, friends and coworkers. Seniors, both of the high school and the more elderly variety, make Duluth Rexall Grill their hangout of choice. “But,” Lynda says, “you’re more than welcome to come by yourself. Just sit next to someone. If you don’t know ’em now, you will when you leave.”
