Spring Bucket List: Gibbs Gardens

Take Miley Cyrus’s advice and buy yourself flowers this spring! Located only an hour north of Gwinnett County in the North Georgia mountains, Gibbs Gardens is a stunning 376-acre garden and essential to your 2023 Spring Bucket List. The journey to Gibbs is part of the adventure, so hop in the car with your favorite people, roll the windows down, and blast your music as you make your way through winding mountain roads with phenomenal views.

Gibbs Gardens has over 16 garden venues with four featured gardens: Daffodils, Manor House Gardens, Monet Waterlily Gardens and Japanese Gardens. While all the gardens are a must-see on your visit, the daffodil display is one of the largest in the nation and is a fan favorite from late winter into early spring. It may be too late to see them this year, but plan ahead for 2024 and enjoy millions of golden daffodils covering 50 acres of rolling hills and fields, creating a sea of yellow and white. Gibbs also has 24 ponds, 32 bridge crossings and 19 waterfalls. It is worth your time to explore all the beauty, and unlike TLC, we must recommend chasing the waterfalls. Gibbs Gardens is undeniably Instagram-worthy, so get your selfie stick or camera ready to capture its beauty (and yours)!

Not only are the remarkable views a reason to add Gibbs Gardens to your bucket list, but Gibbs is a budget-friendly experience. With the cost of everyday items increasing (looking at you, eggs), we know the importance of finding experiences that won’t break the bank! For only $25 for adults, $18 for seniors (65+) and $10 for children (ages 3-17), you get admission to all 16 garden venues, including their four featured gardens. When planning your pit stop to Gibbs, note that they are closed Mondays and open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from early March through mid-December. Remembering that spring is the busiest time to visit is also essential. We encourage you to consider buying your tickets online beforehand, although reservations are unnecessary. You can purchase your tickets online at gibbsgardens.com/visit/tickets.

Although we encourage you to add this to your spring bucket list, be sure to look out for their variety of events throughout the year, including their popular Twilight Concert Series running May – October! Have we convinced you to visit Gibbs Gardens? What are you waiting for? Put the petal to the metal, and we’ll see you there!
