Marie Benedict is a lawyer who has over 10 years of experience as a litigator. She has a passion for unearthing historical stories of women that have been lost to time, which has inspired her work as a novelist. One of her goals is to bring these important stories of women from history to the present day, along with the insights from these women. As a writer, she’s quickly gained traction, earning the titles of a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author for multiple of her works, including The Queens of Crime, The Mitford Affair, Her Hidden Genius and others.
The upcoming Author Talk, which will be held at the branch’s Duluth Meeting Room, is a part of Marie Benedict’s new book tour promoting her historical novel called Daughter of Egypt. This thrilling novel follows Lady Evelyn Herbert’s journey to finding Hatshepsut’s secret tomb. Balancing her troubles with gaining respect amongst her male colleagues and protecting her father’s legacy, Marie Benedict is determined to unearth the secrets behind Hatshepsut, Egypt’s lost female pharaoh, whose legacy was erased from history.
