E-I-E-I-O and on that farm there used to be chickens, horses, a goat, a blacksmith shop, corn and a lot more!  

McDaniel Farm Park is a hidden gem of history, activities and fun for the whole family. Nestled in the middle of bustling Duluth’s Satellite Blvd, businesses and commerce are two park entrances to 134 sprawling acres, full of a rich history waiting to be explored. The property was originally purchased by the McDaniel family in 1859, where it became their home and a working cotton farm until 1999.

At the historical park entrance, there are several original properties on site that are available to explore, including barns, outhouses, tenant buildings and a blacksmith shed.  There are even gardens, actively growing vegetables and flowers. This is a great place to bring your kiddos so they can see just how far Gwinnett has changed, bringing history to life for them.  We invite you to dig into the history and visit on a Saturday morning for a historical tour offered by Gwinnett Parks & Recreation!

The walking trail on the historical side provides a beautiful view as the path winds through the fields that once grew crops. It connects to the other side of the park through the timbers along the trickling creek and birds. It’s truly a piece of country scenery preserved in the middle of metro Gwinnett. 

The park has a second entrance with an incredible farm-themed playground that allows for hours of Old McDaniel’s farm make-believe. The dog park, event pavilions, landscaped grounds and connected three miles of walking trails are additional features that make this park a favorite in Gwinnett.
