Opening of the Georgia Tech Atrium at Curiosity Lab

A New Era of Innovation and Learning Begins in Peachtree Corners with the Opening of the Georgia Tech Atrium at Curiosity Lab

Peachtree Corners has taken a bold leap into the future of education and innovation with the official opening of the Georgia Tech Atrium at Curiosity Lab — a groundbreaking learning environment designed to serve learners of all ages, from students and professionals to entrepreneurs and lifelong learners.

Launched in partnership with Georgia Tech’s College of Lifetime Learning and its Center for 21st Century Universities, the Atrium is more than just a new facility — it’s a dynamic hub for innovation, mentorship, and collaboration. The Peachtree Corners location is the first in what is expected to be a series of Atriums that support Georgia Tech’s strategic goal of global educational access and connectivity.

“This is a game-changer for our city,” said Peachtree Corners Mayor Mike Mason. “By opening our doors to Georgia Tech’s learners and alumni, we’re creating opportunities that will not only benefit individuals but also drive innovation across industries and impact communities far beyond our borders.”

The Atrium offers hands-on access to advanced equipment, real-world testing environments, and tailored mentorship from Georgia Tech faculty. Whether working on robotics, edge computing, or smart city solutions, learners are empowered to move beyond theory and develop skills that will prepare them for the industries of tomorrow.

At the heart of the Atrium is its mission to connect people — students, professionals, business leaders, and educators — in a collaborative, forward-thinking space. From K-12 programming to professional development, the Atrium will host demonstrations, workshops, and networking events year-round. These offerings aim to break down barriers to higher education and foster a culture of lifelong learning.

Georgia Tech President Ángel Cabrera emphasized the importance of this model, stating, “The Georgia Tech Atrium at Curiosity Lab represents the future of higher education — where learning extends beyond the classroom and where broad community collaboration creates novel opportunities and advances.”

The facility is strategically integrated into Curiosity Lab, Peachtree Corners’ signature innovation center and smart city environment, giving learners a unique opportunity to test and deploy ideas in real-world scenarios. This synergy makes the Atrium an ideal venue for experiential learning and academic-industry collaboration.

“This Atrium allows us to foster government, industry, and education collaboration in service of great communities like Peachtree Corners,” said Nelson Baker, interim dean of the College of Lifetime Learning. “It’s an experimental platform that’s already paving the way for educational breakthroughs.”

As Peachtree Corners continues to emerge as a hub for smart technology and innovation, the Georgia Tech Atrium is poised to become a cornerstone of the city’s identity — a place where talent, technology, and opportunity converge.
