Welcome to clear skies and slightly cooler weather. Fall has finally come to Peachtree Corners, so keep those planners empty and on hand, because there are big events happening all October that you won’t want to miss!
What better way to kick off the season than with a little friendly competition? Join fellow athletes and fitness enthusiasts on the Town Green for the Peachtree Corners Decathlon on October 17th.
This year, there will be ten events at Fort Pain that each competitor will have five minutes to complete. From rope climbs to box jumps, navigating the Olympus Wall to hoisting 70 pound sandbags, to all the other rigorous physical challenges to prove their mettle, the competitors will have their work cut out for them! The event starts at 8 a.m., with rolling starts every five minutes, and the race will go on until 2 p.m., so come on out to Fort Pain and feel the burn!
The PTC Decathlon is also adding on a brand new way to compete: as a team! The top 3 male and top 3 female finishes from each Gym will ultimately claim the title of “Top Gym,” and take home The Winner’s Cup. This Winner’s Cup will have the name of their Gym engraved, and the Gym will keep the Cup (and possess bragging rights for producing some of the top athletes in PTC) for the whole year!
The Decathlon is open to men and women aged 18 and older, and there is a small registration fee of $25, which will include a 2026 Decathlon T-shirt, as well as food and beverages at the award ceremony (held Monday October 19th at Cinebistro at the Town Center). This event is currently sold out, but have hope, you still have time to go to the website and secure your spot on the waitlist now!
What are the kids doing in PTC this October, you ask? (Besides trick or treating and dressing up like their favorite superheroes?) They’re going to Disney Rock Night on Saturday October 24th, of course!
This free concert is the last show of the season and will be held from 7-10 p.m. at the Vox Stage on the Town Green, featuring performances from headlining band, The Little Mermen, and fellow Powerhouse band, the Princess Pals. Experience the magic of Disney with the rest of the city and watch the stage come to life with high energy performances, talented entertainers, dazzling costumes and nostalgic hits from every era. Live music begins at 7 p.m. and the headlining performance begins around 8:15. This finale concert will certainly make for a very special and unforgettable evening for all—children, parents and Disney fans alike—and the city invites you to dress up in your finest Disney attire and lean into the magic this October!
And, if you thought that it was over, think again. Peachtree Corners is truly spoiling residents and visitors this season by hosting their ever-adorable event: the Rescue Dog Games! Held from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on October 31st, the Rescue Dog Games (dubbed Atlanta’s annual Best Dog Halloween Festival) is a community celebration that spotlights the joy of pet adoption and encourages people to get outside and play with their furry best friends. Featuring all sorts of events and family-friendly amenities, from dog costume contests to lure chases, doggy game stations, vendor booths packed with pooch and pup treats, the enticing Bone Bar, a kid’s play area, giveaways and so much more, the Rescue Dog Games are perfect for both pets and pet lovers!
Come show your support on October 31st and show a little sweetness to all those pets out there who need loving homes. This festival is entirely free to attend and welcomes all friendly pooch pals on leashes. The main theme: adopt, don’t shop! Find your new furry best friend or simply come out for the love of all dogs and support your local vendors who are hard at work, trying to provide these animals with long, happy lives. There will be on-site pet adoptions from local shelters and rescues as well as plenty of pet products, so no one should leave empty-handed.
Whatever your interest, hobby or passion (who could say no to puppies?), check out Peachtree Corners calendar this October for a variety of festive fall fun to choose from!
