Spotlight top courses in Gwinnett and on one of the best socially–distance activities!
Playing golf just might be one of the best socially-distant activities around and with that in mind, we are highlighting some of the top courses in and around Gwinnett. We also highlighted some socially-distant (SD for short!) bonuses for each course (because us DiGgers always look for the good and fun in everything!).
1- Bear’s Best Atlanta
Providing an experience of a luxurious private club at a public facility for all golfers, Bear’s Best Atlanta is one of the best daily fee courses in Georgia. Golfers will find a unique, fun and memorable golf experience at Bear’s Best with each hole compiled from the greatest of Jack Nicklaus golf course designs.
SD Caddy Tip: Bear’s Best is currently hosting a variety of virtual events including, yoga, cocktail how-to videos and other virtual celebrations. Follow their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/bearsbestatlanta to join in!
2- Château Élan Golf Club
Few golf resorts possess the beauty and variety offered by Château Élan’s 45 holes of championship golf. From the rolling Georgia hills of the Woodlands, to the serene valley lakes on the Château, each course is unique in character and design. Combined with unparalleled customer service, the environment at Château Élan lends for a truly memorable golf experience.
SD Caddy Tip: Pair your golf outing with a Private Grandeur Tour and Tasting, Versailles Afternoon Tea, or a spa treatment!
3- Legacy Golf Course at Lanier Islands
Lanier Islands golf course is a brilliant throwback to classically designed courses not dependent on length to challenge golfers. It is everything great courses are known for: beautiful to the eyes, challenging to the skills and memorable to the spirit…and when you get done, you will be yearning to return! Rolling fairways, undulating greens and soft white sand-all without a house in sight to spoil the beauty of Lake Lanier. Legacy on Lanier has it all!
SD Caddy Tip:Make it a getaway with the Islands Golf Getaway package that includes your room, two rounds of golf and breakfast for two!
4- Stone Mountain Golf Club
Engulfed by the pristine beauty of Georgia nature, Stone Mountain Golf Club has become one of the premier golf experiences in the Atlanta area. The golf club sits at the foothills of Stone Mountain, and meanders around Stone Mountain Lake. What makes Stone Mountain Golf Club such a remarkable experience is the unique personalities of its two courses. The Stonemont Course is a classic challenge that places emphasis on accuracy and strategic course management. The Lakemont Course complements Stonemont with a less demanding, target-oriented layout and exquisite views of Stone Mountain and the surrounding lake.
SD Caddy Tip: Stone Mountain Park, of course! If you are up for the challenge, there are plenty of trails and, of course, a hike up Stone Mountain is always an adventure. If a little more relaxation is what you had in mind, head to The Commons Restaurant. Now open and following socially distant guidelines, The Commons, located adjacent to the golf shop, sits at the water’s edge with beautiful mountain and lake views.
5- Topgolf Buford (Coming Soon – Spring 2021)
No good at golf? No worries, you can still enjoy the highly anticipated Topgolf entertainment destination at The Exchange at Gwinnett in Buford, without a good golf swing or shooting a low score. (In a regular game of golf you want a low score, at Topgolf, you’re aiming high to score the most points!) Topgolf has made socializing safely, a sport by blending technology and entertainment. The new venue will feature 72 climate-controlled bays for plenty of play, as well as delicious food and drink offerings.
SD Caddy Tip:
There are 14 different types of “games” to play for various different skill levels. No clubs necessary, you can bring your irons, but Topgolf provides clubs, even for the littlest golfers. This is the perfect family outing when you have all types of skill levels involved.
