Gwinnett’s Craveworthy Cookies for the Holidays

By Rachel Jeffers

If you think those crumbly cookies are the best we’ve got in Gwinnett, you’ve gotta try these small-batch cookie bakers this holiday season.

Sugar n’ Proof – Braselton

Tucked inside the historic 1904 building is the bright lil’ shop of Sugar n’ Proof that is cranking out cookies, scones, cakes and pastries that are praise worthy of any holiday celebration. Baked freshly daily, shipped bi-weekly across the country and loved by locals!  The signature cookies are thick, decadent cookies that are 6” across and over 1.5” thick at least – packed with flavors on the inside. Literally, there is a flavor-filled center. Classics like chocolate chip and brownie but then they mix it up with Samoas and s’mores (as you can imagine, the middle is packed with gooey goodness!)

Sweet Abilities Bake Shop – Auburn

A whole lot of flavor and goodness comes out of Sweet Abilities Bake Shop in Auburn. The confection sweets coming out of this bakery are made by employees who have a disability diagnosis to showcase their talents and abilities! Their cookies are nostalgic favorites like M&M and oatmeal cookies, but they also have a variety of creative confections like peach cobbler and Whoopie Pies. (Among a million other tasty treats in their bake shop!)

Cookie Trip – All Over Gwinnett

Cookie Trip’s cookie cart can be found all over Gwinnett, popping up at various different locations, with limited drops and big flavors. A creative business model keeps you guessing where the next cookie creation might be, but the trip is always worth it! The flavors are unique, like stuffed apple pie and midnight marshmallow — and always a fun final flavor on the menu that is picked by their social media followers.  Every cookie is stuffed in the middle with the “good stuff.” Follow along on their social media to find out where you can find the pop-up cookie cart next and help determine the final flavor.

Lisa’s Luscious Treats – Lilburn

Lisa’s Luscious Treats specializes in cookies that are pieces of artwork…they look too pretty to eat, but once you take a bite, they are craveable. These cookies are made with love just like grandma’s kitchen (probably because she is one) and her creative talents are overflowing to provide your holiday guests with something truly beautiful. The seasonally themed cookie packs make the best gifts for teachers, clients and friends. And she offers DIY cookie kits and cookie advent wreaths for the perfect holiday get-together activity.
