Gwinnett Mayors “Not in my Town” Restaurant Recommendations

Asking a Mayor of any given City what their go-to favorite local restaurant is would be like asking a parent who their favorite child is. It just wouldn’t be fair to choose one over another (publicly). But we did ask a few of our favorite Mayors, “When you venture out of your area, where do you go to satisfy your various cravings and are there any special dishes you recommend?”

Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette:

“My favorite restaurant outside of Suwanee is Kurt’s Euro Bistro in Duluth. I love everything on their classic German menu, from schnitzel to sausages to steaks to veal chops. And I like to wash it down with a cold German beer and whatever the chef is making for dessert!”

Duluth Mayor Nancy Harris:

“I’ll admit my favorite place to eat outside of Duluth is a great deli…I love sandwiches! I would recommend The Patio in John’s Creek. They have a wonderful bakery too.”

Norcross Mayor Craig Newton:

“Just outside our Norcross city limits is a great little restaurant called Zona Caribbean. The food is fantastic, and the service is excellent. If having a nice Caribbean style seafood dish and live entertainment is your thing, look no further. You won’t be disappointed!”

Lawrenceville Mayor David Still:

“Outside of Lawrenceville, we have always enjoyed Fusion Asian Bistro on Braselton Hwy, Buford. Also, I have recently discovered Sweet Octopus in downtown Duluth.”

Grayson Mayor Allison Wilkerson:

“Wild Wing Café at The Shoppes Webb Gin…their wings are amazing and it’s a fun atmosphere! Outside of Gwinnett, Silver Queen in Monroe and Saucehouse BBQ in Athens.”

Thank you to our Mayors for their tasty recommendations and making us hungry! We certainly Dig these and can’t wait to try so many great places we’ve never heard of!
