Eagle Eye Book Shop
For those on a budget who don’t mind used books, a trip to Eagle Eye Book Shop is a must! This unique bookstore is located in a shopping center within Decatur and has a little bit of everything including fun book-related merchandise. As soon as you walk up to the storefront, you’re greeted by two long rows of used books that are as cheap as $1! Inside, you’ll find every genre you can think of and so much more. Once you’ve made your selections, make sure you join the loyalty club so once you hit $75, you’ll get a $5 credit for your next purchase.

Charis Books & More
Located in a charming restored white house, Charis Books & More is the ideal spot for those with a strong interest in feminist literature. Their main display has a ton of highlighted works recommended by the staff but as you walk around, you’ll find that they have everything related to feminism including fun tote bags, stickers, titles and general book lovers memorabilia. As for their other genres, they certainly don’t lack in that regard as the shelves are truly stacked full of books ranging from mushroom identification to poetry and new releases plus a fun seasonal section.

The Book Bird
As the first independent bookstore in Avondale Estates, the Book Bird is the type of place where you can sit back, chat with friends, read or even crochet! Outside the shop, there’s a ton of seating both under a covered area and not. As you walk inside the shop, you’ll see that they have a combination of crochet items and tools, books and antiques. This is because of the owner’s vision to create a bookstore that fosters a community ambiance.

Poe & Company Bookstore
Named after the owner’s father who had an affinity for dark mystery titles and a particular admiration of Edgar Allen Poe’s works, this bookstore has a curated collection. Nestled in downtown Milton, as you walk into this store, you can feel the community vibe. From genres such as fantasy, poetry (hint: you can buy the entire collected works of Poe), non-fiction, children’s literature and others, it’s easy to spend a few hours browsing through the shelves.

Little Shop of Stories
If you want to relive the magic of your childhood, you need to stop at Little Shop of Stories! The interior of the shop feels like you’re stepping into a children’s fantasy world from colorful yellow walls with pictures of iconic children’s characters and vibrant ribbons and streamers hanging from the ceiling to an entire playhouse for kids. The playhouse is fitted with a fireplace, a painting of the beloved story The Cow Jumped Over the Moon and a secret side entrance that looks like you’re entering Platform 9 ¾. Although the store specializes in children and teen literature, they also have a plethora of titles for adults to browse through.
