Anyone familiar with Old Town Lilburn knows that Lilburn City Park is a local gem, with its scenic greenway, splash pad and playground that are buzzing with life all summer long. Although summer is coming to an end, and the splash pad will be closing for the season on September 20th, there is much more to do at Lilburn City Park than just watching the leaves change this fall. If you’re looking for a new way to enjoy the park, check out these upcoming events.
All summer long, Lilburn’s semi-annual summer concert series, Rock the Park , has brought the community together for amazing performances. This September 12th, gather at the bandshell for a night of music and dancing. The night will open with Moonlark, a Metro-Atlanta based band blending indie-soul, jazz and alternative rock for a captivating musical experience. Once Moonlark has warmed the crowd up, the headliner Purple Madness, a Tribute to Prince, will serenade the audience with familiar favorites. Grab your chairs and blankets and get ready for a night of music under the stars!
For all the foodies in town, Food Truck Tuesday will be held on September 8th from 6-9 p.m. See how the park you know is transformed into a buffet of local savory bites and sweet treats. Whether you are popping in for a quick bite or ranking your favorite dishes with friends, this event is the perfect casual way to meet new people on a week-night!
If meeting new people is your goal, then definitely check out Lilburn City Park’s cornhole league. Whether you’re a beanbag beginner or a seasoned tailgate champion, all who wish to play are welcome!
