Downtown Sugar Hill is an entertainment hub where the community gathers to share memories and experiences in the sweet city of Sugar Hill. With two performing arts venues within walking distance of each other, the city is proud of what The Bowl and The Eagle Theatre represent for cities across Georgia and hopes to continue bringing in a variety of acts and performances for community-wide entertainment for its concert seasons, activities, events and programming. The city hosts 250+ events annually perfect for all members of the community, ranging from Splash Nights at the splash pad to a wintery ice rink.
The largest event hosted in Downtown Sugar Hill is The Sugar Rush Arts Festival which returns October 17 through 19 for a weekend full of art, music, and community fun. Festivities kick off on Friday, October 17, with a free concert at The Bowl. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. with opener Easy Honey. Then at 9 p.m., Wim Tapely takes the stage. Community members can bring their lawn chairs and blankets for a comfortable night under the stars.
On Saturday, October 18, the fun starts early with the 5K Color Run. Registration opens at 7 a.m., and the run begins at 8 a.m. Be sure to register in advance to guarantee your T-shirt. Once the run wraps up, the Sugar Rush Arts Festival opens at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. This all-day celebration fills Downtown Sugar Hill with more than 100 vendors, a Kids Zone with inflatables, a pumpkin patch, a biergarten, and art in every medium.
The excitement continues on Sunday, October 19, with the final day of the festival opening at noon. It’s the perfect time to revisit your favorite vendors or check out the ones you may have missed. You can also cast your final vote for the People’s Choice award in the Juried Art Show at the Sugar Hill Art Gallery. Near The Bowl, gold mining activities will be available, and the day will be packed with live entertainment, including performances by Fit2Fly Skills, All Stars Performing Arts Academy, animal shows, sword fighting demonstrations, live music, and even a mascot dance-off. The festival wraps up at 5 p.m., but the memories will last long after.
