Roswell has become a popular destination for those who want to get outside of the perimeter, but still surround themselves with culture, events, good eats and great schools. This suburb has a lot to offer residents and visitors of every age especially along the ever popular Canton Street. Only a short drive from the borders of Gwinnett, Canton Street provides visitors the opportunity to eat, shop, relax and maybe enjoy a few cocktails in a quaint, walkable setting.
We’ve always heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so what better way to fuel up for your Canton Street day trip than with a delicious breakfast (or brunch)! There are many different options to choose from including, Gracious Plenty, Crazy Love Coffeehouse, or Fellows Cafe.
After munching, we suggest taking a stroll down Canton to visit the many boutiques (and walk off some of that breakfast!). Be sure to stop in to the Instagram worthy Linen & Flax Home and their Apparel store, Steel & Cotton. We also love Spirited Boutique, Belle Mode and Historic Roswell Antiques & Interiors. Looking for something with a little more bling? Be sure to check out Raiford Gallery to see the handmade jewelry and art collection. If you’re lucky, Judie Raiford will be working on a one-of-a-kind piece in her studio that you see from the shopping floor!
As you make your way down the street, be on the lookout for various art sculptures. These are part of the Roswell Arts Fund ArtAround Sculpture Tour. Five sculptures are within walking distance of Canton Street. You can learn more about each piece by downloading the free Otocast app and hear right from the artists that created each sculpture.
Heading into the evening, we recommend a progressive-style dinner. That way you can hit more than just one of the amazing restaurants! Grab appetizers at Lola’s Burger and Tequila Bar. Can we suggest Canton Street chips? Next, make your way to Little Alley Steakhouse for your main dish. This metro Atlanta favorite is sure to impress! Follow up with dessert at Table and Main, which is full of southern classics with a twist. The fun doesn’t have to stop here. Closeout your night at Deep Roots Wine Market or Gate City Brewing Company for a delicious nightcap!
