Best New You!

Look, we think you’re perfect just as you are. But if you’re feeling the New Year’s Resolution peer pressure, we’re here for you.

Get Organized with The Home Edit

If you’re one of those people who drool with envy over Insta posts of perfectly organized pantries with acrylic food containers, or bookshelves organized not by the Dewey decimal system, but in a visually delightful ROY G BIV pattern, then these are your people. Clea and Joanna have merged boring old organization with interior design, making spaces both functional and stylish. The ubiquitous Home Edit comes in multiple mediums (blog, books, Netflix series produced by Reese Witherspoon) for every slob looking to categorize and contain clutter to create beautiful, functional spaces. If this all sounds great, but you just don’t have it in you to tackle a project like this, The Home Edit offers their services in nine cities, including Atlanta.

Recommended: Episode one of Get Organized with The Home Edit, when they organize Elle Woods’ Reese Witherspoon’s closet.

Mindfulness Meditation Podcast

Though some of us have felt a little too present-in-the-moment of 2020, mindfulness (the act of being aware and present in the moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations) is a really great way to achieve a little inner peace in the midst of chaos. If you’re ready to dive deep into your thoughts, whip out your earbuds, make a warm cup of something comforting (no judgment if it’s something hard, we get you) and tune in to the Mindfulness Meditation Podcast by the Rubin Museum in NYC. The museum normally hosts meditation classes in-person, but took their offerings online in 2020. Each episode begins with a discussion that focuses on a specific piece of art and theme, followed by a guided meditation.

Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club List

Yes, this is our second mention of the erstwhile Tracy Flick, but she’s hard not to love – and if you’re looking to be better read in 2021, then there’s hardly anyone better to follow. Witherspoon launched a book club in 2017 along with her media company Hello Sunshine, and frequently turns her picks into movies and TV series (see Wild, Gone Girl, Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere). She even has a young adult selection for the young woman in your life (or, you – again, we’re not here to judge). What do all of the #ReadwithReese picks have in common? A woman at the center of the story. Subscribe to Hello Sunshine’s newsletter to stay up to date with Reese’s Book Picks.

Recommended: Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Daisy Edgar-Jones is already set to star as “Marsh Girl” in the Hello Sunshine adaptation.
