Best 5 – Curb Side To-Go

Things are opening back up across Gwinnett, but you may still feel a little unsure or uncomfortable heading out to a restaurant, or frankly have become accustomed to not showing your face in public or wearing pants. But, there comes a time when you just don’t want a home cooked meal …AGAIN (sorry mom!) Here are the best ways to enjoy all Gwinnett has to offer on the food scene, while not actually eating out at a restaurant!

• Burger 21 – Food Truck in your neighborhood
3385 Woodward Crossing Blvd., Ste. 350

Buford, GA 30519

Inviting someone over for dinner is even better when they do the cooking! Burger 21 in Buford has a food truck that has been making the rounds to neighborhoods across Gwinnett. They set up, they sling the food and everyone goes home to eat happily! Their Black and Blue burger, or Tex Mex Haystack burger with fries (regular or sweet potato) is the perfect way to end a long day. It’s comfort food without ever having to leave the ‘hood.’ Contact the store directly or email erin@roosterbrands.com to set your neighborhood up with dinner on wheels.

• Local Station – Family Meals

108 Brassie Lane

Braselton, GA 30517

When restaurants shut down and only offered curb side pick-up, Local Station in Braselton stepped it up a notch and started doing nightly family meals, and they’ve continued to do so with their popular options. For about $40 you can feed a gourmet meal to a family of four. Check their Facebook page for family meal announcements like: Honey mustard chicken covered with bacon and parmesan cheese with cheesy au gratin potatoes and a side house salad with shredded cheese, heirloom tomatoes and pickled onions. Yes, please!

If you’re like us, you get sick of the “same ole’ same” for dinner, and this new Cuban restaurant, which opened right when the world came crashing to a halt, has been serving up great curbside  to go (and dine in) options in DTL (Downtown Lawrenceville).  We suggest the spicy oxtails (slow cooked in red wine and served with the most delicious plantains) and you can never go wrong with their cuban sandwich.

Restaurant delivery services have been a LIFE saver over the past six months! Your favorite grub can be brought right to your doorstep from places like Frida’s Taqueria in Lilburn.  A fellow digger suggests ordering the skinny margarita mixer and tostones con pollo for a fresh dinner at home from the comfort of your couch and there’s no need for a DD (before or after dinner) due to too many margs!
