As North America hosted the World Cup this summer, Metro Atlanta was flooded with a sea of tourists from all over the world—Spain, Egypt, Argentina and England to name a few places—sparking lively conversations and friendships. Now that the matches are over and everyone has returned home, many of us are left missing this cultural exchange. While we can’t bring the whole world back to Metro Atlanta, Norcross can bring England to us!
On Saturday, September 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. come be transported to the streets of London at The Atlanta British Car Fayre. See Downtown Norcross filled with over 400 British cars and motorcycles. Pick your favorites, try to guess who will be awarded Best in Show or just admire these unique vehicles, whatever way you choose to spend your day you’re sure to enjoy this British invasion.
Speaking of a British invasion, there will be live music by WhozRolling, a tribute band performing classic hits by The Who and The Stone. And what would a British Car Fayre be without a Beatles tribute band? Luckily, The Return will be taking the stage with iconic songs like Here Comes the Sun and Come Together. As if these two bands weren’t enough, the Atholl Highlanders Pipes and Drums USA will be marching down Jones Street and South Peachtree Street, in a parade of kilts, bagpipes and snares.
No cultural immersion is complete without food, so Downtown Norcross businesses and vendors will be serving up British-themed eats, sips and more! Since Downtown Norcross is an open container district, you can enjoy alcoholic beverages on the streets. Perhaps a Norcross “pub” crawl is in order to celebrate? Grab a plate of fish and chips and a pint to sip while you take in the uncharacteristically sunny English day.
If you’re looking for cool cars, live music, tasty food or just the opportunity to practice your British accent, then definitely mark your calendar for The Atlanta British Car Fayre. Click here for more information!
