‘Tis the season for bright lights and date nights, and the City of Norcross has you covered. Every year, Norcross hosts an assortment of activities during the holidays as part of their month-long celebration, “Sparkle!”
THE DINNER
There are many fabulous restaurants to choose from in Norcross, but if you’re looking for something with just the right amount of class without being too ostentatious, you should really check out The Crossing. Repurposed from the original train depot in Norcross, The Crossing sits right on the tracks and, if you time it right, you can still watch the train rumble past while savoring an absolutely divine bowl of Lobster Bisque. The Crossing serves a selection of seafood, steak, lamb and other gourmet specialties, and will often accompany the fare with ambient live music.
THE AFTER-DINNER STROLL
What could be more romantic than a twilight stroll down twinkling, tree-lined streets? We know—a twilight carriage ride down twinkling, tree-lined streets! Every December in Norcross, Mr. Joe brings his team to the streets of Norcross for an extra bit of holiday magic a few nights a week. Thanks to the city, it won’t cost you a thing to snuggle up with your honey under the stars and watch the downtown facades leisurely pass you by—but a kiss may cost you some mistletoe!
THE ENTERTAINMENT
Music or a show, that is the question! On December 6th after the tree lighting, you can catch a special holiday performance with renowned trumpeter, pianist and vocalist Joe Gransden in the Community Center Ballroom. There will be plenty of room to dance and sway as the sounds of smooth jazz transform all your favorite Christmas tunes into the perfect date night soundtrack. But, if the theater is more to your taste, Norcross also features the incredibly talented Lionheart Theatre which will be performing a production of “In Bethlehem Inn” on December 13th, 14th and 15th. The show is actually a unique dinner theater event in which the audience is right in the middle of the action, enjoying a meal alongside the characters—so take note and perhaps skip the dinner out for this date night.
THE MUST DO
Have you and your honey been good this year? Then you simply must make sure to stop by and take a photo with Santa at 45 South Café to commemorate the night! Like the carriage rides, photos with Santa are provided by the city at no cost to you. Simply stop in, whisper your Christmas wish in Santa’s ear and SNAP! Your holly jolly date night in downtown Norcross is one for the books.
