The Atlanta Christkindl Market, a cherished holiday tradition since 2016, is making its debut in Downtown Lawrenceville this year. Hosted at the Lawrenceville Lawn (210 Luckie Street), the market brings the charm of a traditional German Christmas village to Gwinnett County, offering a festive experience for families, food lovers, and holiday shoppers alike.
Previously held in Buckhead, the market has relocated to Lawrenceville to accommodate its growing popularity and to provide a more spacious, walkable setting. The new location offers ample parking and easy access to downtown amenities, making it an ideal destination for seasonal festivities.
Visitors can expect a wide array of international cuisine, including German bratwurst, schnitzel, raclette, pierogies, and barbecue. Sweet offerings include chimney cakes, crepes, Dutch pancakes, and hot chocolate. Traditional mulled wine (Glühwein) and spiced cider will also be available.
In addition to food, the market features dozens of vendors selling handcrafted ornaments, winter apparel, home décor, and unique holiday gifts. Many of the items are imported from Europe or made by local artisans.
The market includes live music, carolers, and performances by local choirs and bands. A 50-foot Ferris wheel offers panoramic views of the market and the surrounding area. Santa Claus will be available for photos, and pet-friendly photo sessions are also scheduled throughout the season.
Parking and Accessibility
The City of Lawrenceville offers more than 1,200 free and easily accessible parking spaces throughout the downtown area. Visitors are encouraged to park at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center and enjoy a short walk—less than half a mile—through holiday light displays to reach the Lawrenceville Lawn. The Christkindl Market is open from November through December with the following schedule:
- Wednesdays & Thursdays: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Fridays & Saturdays: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Sundays: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Christmas Week: Open daily through December 24, 2025.
