Confession time—I had never taken myself on a solo date. I mean, who does that, right? Turns out… everyone should. So, I gave it a go and let me tell you, it was the peaceful, introspective, self-loving day I didn’t know I needed.
I kicked things off with a Caramel Iced Latte from Wise Coffee Company in Suwanee. Podcast in my ears, sunshine on my face and zero small talk required? Pure bliss. Sipping solo is a vibe.
Next up—activity time. Because what’s a self-date without a little self-care? I wandered into The Oil Bar at Sugarloaf Mills, and it was basically a personal spa playground. Lotions, scrubs, bath bombs—you name it. I opted to customize my own body oil. The scent options were endless—from designer dupes like Chanel to cozy basics like lavender.
My final mix? A dreamy blend of sugar, red berries, mandarin orange, vanilla, cocoa, soft spices, rose, tonka bean, amber, musk and woody notes. I walked out of there smelling like a five-star dessert.
Feeling like a walking fragrance ad, I wrapped up the day with a solo dinner at Raik Mediterranean in Suwanee Town Center. I started with a passionfruit margarita and some crispy falafel, followed by filet mignon kabobs over basmati rice, and ended with warm baklava served with vanilla ice cream. A literal feast for one. And then? I headed home with a full belly and a full heart.
Truth is, solo doesn’t mean sad. Solo is solitude. A chance to slow down, recharge and get to know yourself like you would someone you’re dating. Because let’s face it—you’re pretty great company. So book that solo date. You deserve it.
