IN SEASON: SALSA – A TASTE OF SUMMER

By

One of the delights of summer is salsa made from ingredients fresh from the garden. Seasonal bounty such as tomatoes, onions, peppers and herbs combine with lime juice, salt and pepper to make a tasty and refreshing treat. Use salsa as an accompaniment to grilled meat, as an appetizer or as a side dish.

Variations are endless depending on what you have in the garden or what you can purchase from your local farmers market. Here is one quick, easy version:

Ingredients for this simple recipe will be available from local farmers at Norcross Community Market starting June 1 at Webb Park, 5 College Street in Historic Downtown Norcross. The market is open every Saturday through August 31 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Come shop Norcross Community Market for locally and sustainably grown ingredients directly from the farmers who grow them and start enjoying the tastes of summer.
